Dr. Ju’s research interests include the risk assessment of structural and nonstructural components such as piping systems, flood defense structures, bridges, NPPs, and hydroelectric power plants, performance-based design in earthquake engineering, the response of dynamic soil-foundation and fluid-structure interaction. His research focuses on the development of fragilities of structural and nonstructural systems on ground motions, flood, and blast, etc. Specifically, he is exploring the risk & fragility, vulnerability assessment of structures, and modeling fundamentals: combining loss estimation with respect to multi hazards.
